LONSDALE, Barbara Joan (nee LETSON)
Born February 14th, 1960, Barb passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on Friday, November 27, 2009. Barb will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband Dan, father John, sister Debbie and brothers Dave and Rob. Predeceased by her mother Joan, Barb will also be missed by her nieces Megan and Laura, nephew Scott, cousins and family in Canada, Washington State, and Scotland, and the many friends, teachers and students that Barb’s life has touched. Barb was born and raised in Vancouver/Tsawwassen and eventually moved to South Surrey where she first taught at Star of the Sea, then Prince Charles, and most recently at Ocean Cliff Elementary School. Barb enjoyed life as a devoted wife, daughter, sister and teacher who truly loved her children. She loved running, nature, travelling, music, writing, and spending time with friends and family. Barb’s spirituality, positive outlook towards life and gratitude will continue to be an inspiration to everyone she knew. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Surrey Memorial and Peace Arch Hospitals. Prayers will be offered at 7:30 pm on Thursday, December 3, at Sacred Heart Parish, 3900 Arthur Drive, Ladner; where the Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 4. A reception will follow in the Parish Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to fight Breast Cancer would be greatly appreciated.
