We are saddened to announce the passing of Bernard Robert Charles, Grand Chief of the Semiahmoo First Nation - beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle. In keeping with his wishes, he died quietly at his home on August 17th surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his children, Shayne and Shannon; his 6 grandchildren; Curtis, Tyler, Savannah, Raven, Ariel and Alan, whom he loved as his own; his 7 siblings Virginia, Mabel, Willard, Margaret, Eleanor, Barbara and James; plus nieces and nephews too numerous to name.

We deeply feel his loss but we also celebrate his reunion and the loving embrace we know he now shares with those family members who went before him.

We are grateful for the gift of his life, his warmth, his humor and his unfailing dignity and kindness. We invite his many friends and acquaintances to join us in celebrating his life:

The Prayer Services, Funeral & Traditional Feast will all be held at: Earl Marriot Secondary School, 15751 16th Avenue, Surrey, BC. Prayer Services: Thurs. Aug. 21, 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Services: Fri., Aug. 22, 10 am.

Burial Services follow at the Semiahmoo Cemetery. The Celebration of Life Traditional Feast follows at Earl Marriott Secondary. All are welcome.
