Beryl Florence Oliver (nee Bailey passed away quietly in her sleep at Peace Portal Lodge, White Rock on Dec. 29, 2006. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Meryl and Mel Belich, of Calgary and her son and daughter-in-law, John and Carla Oliver, of White Rock. "Nana" is also survived by her five grandchildren: Kim Oliver (Kelly O'Brien), John D. Oliver(Lauri Thistle), Chad (Lise) Oliver, Michael (Karen) Belich, Matthew Belich (Shauna Davies) and her six great grandchildren: Britny & Amber Oliver, Klay Jager, Aiden & Larkyn Belich and Sophia Oliver. Beryl is also survived by her sister Phyllis Bishop of Langley and many nieces and nephews in B.C.and several cousins in England. She was predeceased by her father, Ernest Bailey, in 1945, her mother Nora Bailey, in 1984, her brother "Jock", in 1943 (MIA), and her older brother Gerry, in 1997.

Beryl was born in Agassiz on April 29, 1916 and lived in various places in B.C. during her lifetime. She and her family lived in Cloverdale, Maple Ridge, White Rock, Kelowna, Narcosli Creek, New Westminster and Prince Rupert during the past 90 years.

She was a teacher for a number of years in the Surrey area and later on in Kelowna. She also ran the office for her brother Gerry Bailey during the formative years of B&B Trucking of Cloverdale.

Beryl was a keen golfer and bowler and managed to do both until well into her 80's. She loved sports in general and Tiger Woods and the BC Lions in particular.

A private family service will be held at a later date and burial will be in the family plot at the Surrey Centre Cemetery.
