July 25, 1937 – March 28, 2020
Ruth Hansen, as she was known to most, daughter of Magnus and Olga Pedersen, peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Saviour the evening of March 28th in White Rock, BC.
Born in Randers, Denmark in July of 1937, Ruth immigrated to Canada with her wonderful husband, John, in 1956.
Ruth had a natural ability to organize people and get things done; whether it was to prepare for weddings to fundraise for her favourite charity, or arrange care and activities for the many seniors in Dania Home and Burquitlam Lions Care Centre. Her heart for people and boundless enthusiasm always made things interesting.
A gracious hostess and wonderful cook, Ruth and John’s home was always open to serve, feed and care for people from all walks of life. As a couple, they shared the love of Christ and led countless unbelievers to a saving knowledge of Him.
Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Anna, son Daniel (Linda), granddaughter Eve, daughters in kind, Cathy and Ruthie, siblings Tove, Bentha, Johannes (Solveig) and many nieces and nephews and extended family in Denmark. Ruth’s husband John, siblings Ellen and Kai predeceased her. We know that we will meet Ruth again, and her family and many friends will always remember her as a passionate representative of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Well done, good and faithful servant. Matt 25:21
Special thanks to the kind staff at Dr. Al Hogg Pavilion who provided a warm and caring environment for the last five months.
Sadly, in light of the current Covid-19 restrictions, Ruth’s memorial service will be held at a later date.
