September 9, 1968 - February 26, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dave, in the early hours on February 26, 2017 in Red Deer, Alberta. He died peacefully with his wife and two children at his side. Dave was born to John and Sheelane Stigant on a lovely day in September at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. At the age of 48 he was well-respected in his field. He had recently taken the position of Director of Maintenance for Mustang Helicopters. Formerly, he worked for Northern Air Support in Kelowna, and Vancouver Island Helicopters, based in both Sidney and Prince George. Dave graduated from G.P. Vanier Senior Secondary School in 1987 and moved on to study aircraft maintenance at BCIT. Dave and Gen moved several times during his career, gathering friends wherever they went. He was predeceased by his father John Stigant and father-in-law Jon Guy. He is survived by his wife Genvieve and his beautiful children Grace and Nicholas; his mother Sheelane; brother Andrew, sister-in-law Dawn, and nieces Sienna and Shayla; mother-in-law Priscilla; sister-in-law Jesse; sister-inlaw Michelle and nephew Damon; brother-in-law Jonathon; and his many dear friends. We will deeply miss this fun, music loving, bigger-than-life man, who filled our hearts and lives with love and light. “How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard” Winnie the Pooh There will be a Celebration of Life for Dave on July 29, 2017 in the Comox Valley.
