January 21, 1946 - June 13, 2018
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Richard Wadge on 13 June 2018. Mourning his loss are his loving wife of 50 years, Mavourneen; his children: Jeffrey (Sara), Patrick (Zan), Jocelyn (Remo) and Chantal (Avasa); his eight adored grandchildren: Sophia, Alexander, Elliot, Paloma, Sufi, Ayrton, Simone and Rumi; and his brother, Doug (Kimiko).
After graduating from UBC Medical School in 1970, Richard practiced family medicine for 37 years in Surrey/N. Delta. After retirement, he became an Associate Professor of Medicine at UBC where he taught for ten years.
Richard was also the Chief Examiner for the Medical Council of Canada for the past five years. In all aspects of his medical life he was greatly respected for his compassion, his professionalism, his integrity and his humanity.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held on July 6th at 2:00 at the Unitarian Church, 49th and Oak Street in Vancouver.
