It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Erna at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Erna was born in Ebenezer, Saskatchewan, in 1933, as part of a large & happy family. In the late 1940s the family moved to Kelowna. She eventually made her way to the west coast where she met Don at Ebenezer Baptist Church in South Vancouver. For decades, they were tireless servants of the Lord at that place of worship. Their home was always a welcoming place for visiting relatives & friends.
Erna was known for her great faith, her loving heart, boundless energy, excellent cooking skills, as well as her sense of humour.
Erna is survived by Don, her loving husband of 65 years, and her precious daughters Lois (Tom) and Janice (Mike) as well as her beloved grandchildren, Carmen, Cheryl, Bill, Darren, Jessica and Brittaney.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving siblings Al (Janet), Betty, Ron (Joan), Frieda, Joyce, and Leona (Dwight) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned in Surrey for the afternoon of Saturday July 16. We are comforted with the knowledge that she has gone home to be with Jesus. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Union Gospel Mission.
