It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon John Wittchen on May 2, 2018.
Gordon fought hard to make it to his 80th year on May 20, but in the end lost his battle with cancer. A man of tremendous character, kindness, patience and humour, he will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Born in Abbotsford, BC in 1938 to John and Christina Wittchen, Gordon joined his older brother Arnold in helping on the family dairy farm. Married to his sweetheart Marilyn (Portwood) on June 30, 1961, they built their life near and in White Rock, BC while they raised Kim (Alex), Laura, and Jon (Lydia).
Gordon was a man of faith and that faith called him to open Faith Christian Books and Celebration Christian Store, serving the Christian community for over 30 years. Gordon enjoyed each and every one of his seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A celebration of Gordon's life will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., Peace Portal Alliance Church.
