SCHULTZ, Harold Rowland, passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 9, 2008, at the age of 80. Harold was predeceased by his parents Charles and Olga; brothers Edward, Raymond, and sister Edna. He will be dearly missed and remembered by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Joy; sons Lloyd and Larry; daughter in law Sandra; grandsons Bryan, Christopher, and Jason, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Vancouver in 1928, Harold moved to Sullivan Station on 152nd Street in 1935 with his family. He worked on the family farm until he joined Air Canada in 1951. After 35 years as a pilot and Captain, Harold retired in 1986. An avid fisherman, Harold and Joy enjoyed many years of their Saturna Island cottage; he also enjoyed travelling with Joy and woodworking, making some beautiful pieces of furniture for Joy. A good and generous man, Harold will be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Harold’s life will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660-72nd Ave., Surrey. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of one’s choice or Surrey Memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the Schultz family.
