Helen CURRIE

August 13, 2011

CURRIE, Helen Jean(Fraleigh) passed away August 13th, with peace in her heart and permission from her children, Roberta (Tom) Feely and Tom (Arlene) Currie. Helen was born in Kindersley, SK Nov. 12, 1917, to Benjamin & Amelia Fraleigh. She met the love of her life, Hugh Currie at a Young Peoples meeting at Cloverdale United Church, where they were later married, January 12, 1937. They leave behind 5 grand-children, and 8 great grandchildren. Helen and Hugh enjoyed worldwide travel, a huge community of friends, and more importantly family. Helen's Christian Faith was her anchor and she was ready to meet death. In her final days Roberta said "Mom, you want quality, not quantity," and Mom's reply "I have had both." Mom, you have been so loved for your words of wisdom, and a lifetime of high ideals for honesty and integrity. Our family wishes to express our very deep appreciation to the wonderful staff of the Pacific Carlton, Mom's place of residence for the past 8 years, and also for the outstanding care both Mom and we received from the Hospice Unit at Peace Arch Hospital. A celebration of life will be held at Cloverdale United Church, August 25th at 2:00. Memorial gifts may be made to the White Rock South Surrey Hospice Society, 15510 Russell Ave., White Rock, V4B 2R3, or a charity of your choice.
