NAKAZNICK, Helen Joan
(nee Stevens) on April 30th, 2005, Helen, a beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother (Bubba), went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Helen was born on June 5, 1917 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Harry & Pauline Stevens. Helen married Harry Nakaznick and moved to Toronto, Ontario, before eventually retiring to Surrey, BC after Harry’s death, to be close to her two daughters and their families. Helen will be greatly missed by her daughters Charlotte of Delta and June (Ric) of White Rock; and her five grandchildren, Cheryl (Bill), Karin, Christopher (Dawn), Christina (Randy) and Chelsea, and her seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jessie, Charlotte, Brodie, Baylee, Grace and Aliya. Helen is also survived by her sisters Anne, Rose, Marie, and brother Dan and her special friend and companion Glenn, who loved, cared and looked after her with great kindness. Helen loved her church, Ukrainian heritage, flowers, garden and pets; loved to exercise and be around people, earning the nickname of “social butterfly”. Helen’s wonderful sense of humour, inner strength and beauty will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC on Friday, May 6th, 2005 at 2:00 pm.
