November 8, 1944 - March 16, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of James Leslie Asman on March 16, 2020, at his home in Surrey, British Columbia. James, age 75, was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Margaret Asman, and is survived by his sister, Frances Smith, and son, Charles Asman.
James was born in Penticton, British Columbia, but moved to Southern California as a young boy. He received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Cal State Northridge, then served and was discharged honourably from the US Army. Thereafter he started a commercial photographic lab in Vancouver Canada that he and his business partner, Dave Sparks, operated for over 20 years.
In his later semi-retirement, James divided his time between computer consulting and watching Jeopardy and the Simpsons, all while doting on his beloved dogs, Sam, Muffin, and Biscuit. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors, especially the Green Timbers dog walking troop.
