1953-2022. ~. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jim on January 2, 2022 In Langley, British Columbia. Predeceased by his father Nicholas, mother Rose and sister Judy.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Yolanda, sons Chris (Kaysee) and Dan (Delaine), and his daughter Julia (Jon); "Gido'' to 4 grandchildren, Jeron, Seth, Sophia, Lincoln, and "Dodo'' to his twin granddaughters Honor and Ella; his sister Sherry (Mike) and brother Jerry; his second mother Gert; his extended family and also nieces, nephews and other relatives in B.C. and Alberta.
Jim retired after many decades with Black Press in 2018 and became an avid gardener helping his children maintain their gardens whenever possible. He looked after his grandchildren frequently which was lovingly referred to as ''Gido's Daycare''.
Jim's love of motorcycles took him far and wide on many road trips travelling in B.C., Yukon, and the United States. He loved the ocean and seeing new places.
Jim had a great gift of gab and would talk to anyone about anything at any time.
He loved his family and his many friends deeply and was loved by all completely. He touched many people with his humour and kindness and would give a helping hand to anyone who needed him. He will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Royal Columbian Hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital and Langley Hospice staff for the wonderful care of Jim.
A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
