Jean REDKNAP

October 2, 2007

REDKNAP, Jean (nee Watkivs) passed away peacefully on October 2, 2007, surrounded by her family, husband Robert, and sons David (Andrée), Geoffrey (Katie) and Brian (Lisa). She is survived by her brothers Wally (Maureen) and Ken (Tammy). Born in East Sheen, England, she came to Canada to marry Robert in 1965. Jean's greatest pride and dedication was to her family. She shared in and supported all their interests and remained close to them, especially enjoying the holidays. She loved cats and her life was filled with them, as she would never turn away a stray. Her caring extended to the garden, where everything she touched flourished. In her later years, she enjoyed collecting teddy bears and doing cross-stitch. She selflessly gave countless hours to charity work such as the Canadian Celiac Society, and to Operation Teddy Bear, creating cross-stitched quilts to raise funds for children with cancer. Faced with celiac disease, she saw it as a challenge, not a burden. "Family, home, and the cats are the important things." she said. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 13, with funeral services at Christ Church followed by a reception at Christ the Redeemer, at 16613 57A Avenue, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s name to:

The Canadian Celiac Association (1-800-363-7296)
