BULL, John Sidney

July 14th, 1924 - June 28th, 2006

John passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2006 at Surrey Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his wife Ilse, in 1985, and will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Marrianna (George), son Ralph (Joy), grandchildren Sandra, Christopher and Stefanie (Rob) and extended family in Germany and England.

John was born in Southampton, England, apprenticed at age 14 to Vickers Armstrong, building Spitfire Aircraft. He volunteered for the British Military was posted to the Royal Tank Regiment and participated in the Allied D Day invasion of Normandy. He survived the destruction of three tanks and finished his military service in Berlin, where he met his wife Ilse. In 1957 John and his family immigrated to Vancouver, BC and he worked for Philips Cables for 30 years. He had a tremendous passion for music and took great pleasure organizing dances/music events for a variety of groups and fund raising causes. Most recently he was involved with the Langley Seniors and socials at the West Villa Estates. John was hard working, a devoted family man, and will be remembered for his sociable personality and rich story telling.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at SMH North 41 for their outstanding compassion and care during John's stay. A family graveside service was held at Ocean View Cemetery on July 4th, 2006. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the TB Vets or Canadian Cancer Society.
