Joy died peacefully surrounded by family at White Rock Seniors Village on July 1st. She was born in London, England on July 9th, 1924 and came to Canada in 1947 as a war bride. She became a proud Canadian in her 70 plus years living in Surrey, Langley and finally, in White Rock.
Joy was all about her family and was a mom first and foremost but was known to all as a kind and loving person. She was predeceased by her husband Ken and then her long-time companion and friend, Wilf (Ryan).
She will be greatly missed by her brother Roy Edgell and her children Jeff, Daryl and wife Marilyn, Merril and husband Vic (Osers, predeceased), Tracy and husband, John (Hogg). She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Alicia (John Russo), Geoff, Jonathan, Christina (Colin Munro), Tim, Patrick, Allan and Jackson and her three great grandchildren, Domenic, Gino and Vincenzo.
A graveside service will be held on Salt Spring Island, where the family has spent summers for more than fifty years, on Friday, July 6th at Ganges Community Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
