LAYTON, MARY A.

Born in England, came to Canada 1925. Predeceased by her husband Gordon; husband Harry; and son James. Survived by her daughter Lorna (John); grandaughter Kirsty (Iain); grandsons Jason, Jordon, Jay, and Ryan; great granddaughters Charolotte, Abby, Holly, and Gemma; and brother Cyril. Mary was an active member in the LDS Church, choirs, belonged to I.O.D.E., W.O.T.M., & C.N.I.B., Scouts, and director of musical productions at Sunrise Senior Centre. She was womens editor of the Powell River News for 26 years. Author of childrens storys and poetry. A great story teller, she loved music, travel, and was always ready to "go". Family functions were her favourite activity. She wishes to be remembered with love and humour. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 28th at 10:00am at Valley View Chapel, 14660-72nd Avenue, Surrey. Following the Funeral, a reception will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 10122-140th Street, Surrey.
