REMPEL, Mary. With saddened hearts we announce that Mary Rempel passed away on December 9th, 2011, with her children Barbara and Robert and her daughter-in-law Jeannie by her side, and with the loving support of the hospital staff. Mary left our earthly home to meet with her loving husband Dan. Mary and Dan shared a wonderful marriage of 66 years, and we find comfort in knowing they can now share an eternity together in the presence of our Lord. Mary was a feisty and active woman, who blessed not only the lives of her husband and children, but also her community. Mary Rempel was born on 22nd Sep 31 in Beausejour Manitoba to Marie and Henry Reimer. Mary, one of 9 children, was predeceased by her husband Dan, her brother Conway, and her sisters Betty and Sarah. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Pashalis and husband Yiannis of Greece and her son Robert Rempel and wife Jeannie of Thunder Bay, her grandchildren Giorgos, Danny, Steve, Carrie Moore (Steve's wife to be), Katrina and Jessica, her brothers Henry and Alvin, and her sisters Adina Klippenstein and Margaret Reimer.

Following a life committed to the Lord, Mary helped not only in the church but also in the community with her good deeds. Having a lovely voice she sang in the church choir, not to mention that she aided the poor by working in soup kitchens, visited the sick and took an active interest in many organizations like the Fraser Valley and Langley Naturalists. In 1986, after having completed Grade 12 and returning to College, Mary graduated from Douglas College with a Certificate in Office Administration-Legal Secretarial Specialty. They started travelling both to see their son in Eastern Canada and their daughter in Greece. But on 31st October 2007, her husband Dan passed away and at this point there was a gradual decline in Mary's health until, she, too, passed away on 09th Dec 2011. A viewing will take place at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 7-9 pm. Interment: Hazelwood Cemetery 11:00 am on Thursday, December 15th, 2011 followed by A Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM at Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
