January 30, 1935 - February 16, 2019
On February 16, 2019 the world lost a lovely, kind woman who lived an ordinary life that she filled with adventure. A Vancouverite-by-birth, at 21 she married the love of her life George, and they moved to the wilds of Surrey. They built a happy life with their daughters Andrea, Jenny (Brent), Laura (Bruce), and Georgia (Sid).

She set an example for her girls, demonstrating an enjoyment of career both at the Surrey Textbook Centre and Big Bar Guest Ranch in Clinton, BC. In 1976 Nancy talked George into a job exchange to Australia, one of the best experiences the family ever shared. In 1987 her beloved George passed away. Nancy lost her best friend but had taught her daughters what it was to commit yourself fully to someone you love.

Nancy then traveled back to Australia and to Singapore, a long-time dream. She joined a jazz society, enjoyed theatre, dinners out, family and eventually managed to become a 'semi- professional' crib player. Along the way Nancy welcomed eight fantastic grandchildren Katey (Dave), Sarah, Meghan (Geoff), Raymond (Karah), Brendan, Morgan, Griffin, and Cooper. Nancy was thrilled to be able to meet six great-grandchildren; Michaela, Emma, Evelyne, Sawyer, Theo, and Benjamin.

At the end of her life Nancy died the way she lived, in her own way and on her own time. She will be forever missed by her loving family and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held for Nancy on April 20, 2019 at 2 pm in Maple Ridge. Please email nancylwv@shaw.ca for the address and directions. No flowers please, donations to your local Legion would be appreciated.
