McCLURG - Ronald William
Born in Vancouver on April 28 1932 to Dorie and Edward McClurg. Died suddenly on May 7, 2008 in Surrey, B.C.
Much loved husband, father,
grandfather and great-grandfather.
Left to mourn is his wife of 57 years, Betty - son Stephen, daughters Arlie and Meredith, daughter-in-law Sharon Kurtz and sons-in law Rick Hastie and Don Keillor, Grandchildren: Courtney and wife Nicole Erfle, Lindsey and husband Mike Sweetland, and Derek Keillor, great-grandchildren Austin, Gracey and Hannah. Sisters and brother-in-law: Elaine Hansen, Frances Eamor, Betty Sawri, Donna and Jim Thomson, sister/niece Gail Sullivan, sisters and brother-in-law: Judy Wright, Neil and Ellen Craig, along with numerous nieces /nephews, relatives and friends.
Predeceased by brother Ted, sisters Lois (Tiny) Pelletier and Mavis Oberholtzer.
Ronnie was a life long trade union member and served his labour brothers and sisters in the trade union movement as Secretary Treasurer of the Labourers' Union and later staff and provincial representative of the Retail Wholesale Union. He served his community as a member of the Surrey Memorial Hospital Board. Recent years have found him delighting in the antics of his three great grand-children. We will miss him greatly.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held at Days Inn/Surrey Inn
