With sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother Vera, who passed away peacefully on March 18, 2017 at the age of 95. She was pre-deceased by her husband John in 2000 and daughter Karen (Bill) in 2008. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Michael (Carol), daughter Frances (Don), and son Stephen (Teri); grandchildren Barry, Toby, Jonathan (Kim), Colin (Nicole), Caroline and Daniel; and great-grandson Jack. Vera was born and raised in Burnaby, B.C., raised her family in New Westminster and Kamloops, settling finally In Surrey. She was an active member in the Anglican Church and the Royal City Field Naturalists. Vera loved gardening, especially flowers. She and husband John enjoyed many bird-watching walks down at Blackie Spit, Crescent Beach. Our family would like to acknowledge the staff at Weatherby Pavillion, Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock for the loving care they gave to our mother over the past three years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the British Columbia SPCA.
