LETTER: Band event in North Delta set a great example for teens and parents

The Editor,

I volunteered for a couple of hours to help out at the "Band Concert" last Friday at the Firehall Centre for the Arts in North Delta. There were four bands expected to play. I was very impressed with the smooth turnarounds between bands and the audience made up of mainly teenagers. They were polite and just out to enjoy themselves in a civilized manner.

It was a wonderful opportunity for me to witness first-hand the nature of an evening like that. I was very pleasantly surprised (even though the music was deafening).

Congratulations to the Delta Arts Council for hosting an event like this. Some of the parents came to support the young people as well. They should be applauded too. That sends a message of good support to the teenagers and young adults.
