Re: “Man shot near Bear Creek Park in Surrey’s 31st shooting of 2016,” the Now online.
The shootings have been happening all over Surrey, not just in the Newton area.
The focus needs to be how we can fix this problem – across Surrey, not just Newton. Looking at one community is not going to solve anything.

Intervention programs need to be delivered to schools. The people involved in these shootings are young individuals who have gone down the wrong path.
Newton is a strong community of hard-working individuals, not a community defined by gunplay.
