LETTER: Sadly, Surrey mayor's costly - and useless - trip shocked nobody

The Editor,

So Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts, the police chief, the fire chief, the city manager and a couple of hanger-on criminologists decided that they had to go to New York and then on to Puerto Rico for three nights in a fivestar hotel on a "fact-finding mission" regarding surveillance cameras.

Fifteen thousand bucks of Surrey taxpayers' money later, they decided that they didn't want the equipment in question.

No worries, I'm sure they all had a good time.

What we really need is surveillance on all these entitled city employees as they go about blowing our money.

This junket would be shocking if it were not so common nowadays.
