LETTER: Simpson’s column on Vancouver's Trump Tower 'protest' was refreshing, unexpected

Protesters do their thing outside Trump Tower in Vancouver on Tuesday morning.

The Editor,

Re: “Trump Tower ‘protest’ was, like, an exercise in silliness,” the Now, March 2.

Editor Beau Simpson’s column was a refreshing surprise. It was great to see a journalist actually recounting the ridiculous nature of these Trump Tower protesters that don’t really know what they are protesting about. They are often fueled by a biased media that deliberately misinterprets and falsely reports on the progress and directives of President Trump.

The countries affected by the travel ban were identified by the Obama administration as being hotbeds of trouble and terrorist training. The ban is a rational move to ensure proper vetting of all immigrants so that terrorists don’t get access to the U.S. – or Canada, for that matter.

I would encourage people to start fact-checking before they buy into the slant that the news media has put on the Trump presidency.

I find it amazing that a journalist still has a job after truly reporting the facts about the “protest” associated with Trump. It is also very refreshing to have a politician in office, albeit in the U.S., who actually does what he said he would do during his campaign.
