LETTER: So pleased with the compassion of citizens

People of Surrey made a stranger's day.

On Nov. 5 around 2 p.m. at 122 Street and 75 Avenue in Surrey, my car blew a tire. I called a tow truck, but a very kind gentleman and his young son Yousef, along with another helpful fellow walking by, insisted that they could do the job and told me to cancel the $53 tow truck request.

Another guy even came down the road to offer assistance, but the other two said they were okay.

Wow... I was so pleased with the compassion of Surrey citizens to help another citizen. They worked as a team and I offered to reward them but they refused.

God bless all of them and I hope they share with their families that they really made a stranger’s day.
