LETTER: So, reader thinks the Now's editor should censor letters now?

The Editor,

Re: "Shame on editor for running letter," the Now, March 18.

All I got from this letter is that the writer is in favour of censorship.

Shame on him for that. We can't have an effective democracy if some views are never heard.

The original letter he criticized, headed "B.C. should pull a Reagan on BCTF," struck me as a fresh look at the issues, even if it could never happen.

I'm sure it went completely against the Now's position on this issue, so I commend you for running it even if you were only being provocative. You succeeded in making people think.
