Let's give South Surrey its own "Stanley Park"

A plan to turn the Hills at Portal golf course (seen here during a past tournament) into parkland is winning favour with this Surrey resident.

Editor,

I’m writing in support of the Peace Portal Golf Proposal – given two-thirds of it will be converted to a public park,100 acres (the park) will remain in ALR.

My husband and I have called South Surrey home for over 35 years and love our community.

This proposal is a wonderful benevolent opportunity for our community, benefiting all Surrey residents and future generations. I, along with many others, look forward to enjoying all of the sights and sounds of what Peace Portal has to offer, walking , hiking, hoping for pickleball/tennis courts, a fenced dog park and so much more.

This is a golden opportunity for South Surrey to have their own “Stanley Park.”

Let’s celebrate and welcome all families, persons with disabilities, bird enthusiasts, runners, hikers, dog owners. This park will be wheelchair-accessible.

I am very enthusiastic about this proposal for us all.
