LETTER: We're fortunate to have had Hiebert represent Surrey and White Rock

The Editor,

Re: Michael Booth and Donna Rothstein's comments and criticism of Russ Hiebert.

It is very evident that neither Booth or Rothstein offered any information regarding what they would do if they held that position.

We are so fortunate to have such a clean-living, honest representative. Hiebert always had an open door when anyone had a concern to discuss. He also responded to phone calls and had an annual open coffee time in a Surrey park, where anyone could attend and join in the question period and/or have a private, one-on-one.

Personally, I, along with many others, will hate to see him move on, but we understand that he can lessen the pressure and spend more time with his family.

We wish you, Russ, all the best and express our thanks and appreciation for your openness and political efforts for our area - also, for your faithfulness in meeting with Prime Minister Harper on our behalf.

We should be so thankful for our land of peace, plenty and freedom.

R.J. Kile, Surrey
