Sure, we have our challenges but the people in Surrey make this city a great place – and we continue to prove it.

It’s far too often that Surrey gets a bad rap but we kicked that stereotype’s butt over the September long weekend.

Overwaitea Food Group stepped up by kicking off a food drive at several of its local stores to replace what the Surrey Food Bank lost in the recent windstorm. Half of the 30,000 pounds of food came from community donations, and the company matched it.

Kudos not only to Overwaitea, but also to the people of Surrey who went out of their way to give.
