I am reminded at this time of year of Heather Thomas, who went missing in 2000 in Cloverdale near my home, and I think of her mother, who I do not know, and how she must miss her daughter, who would now be about 22.
I am so blessed to have my 17-year-old daughter and wish to let Jody Aspin know that I won’t forget how volunteers searched my backyard for her little Heather.
I know that Heather would want her mother to have peace despite this tragedy and I really want to just let her know that I send my sincere love and hope that she has that.
Heather is still with me, even though I didn’t even know her.
And I am sure I am not alone in these feelings.
