- In the Jan. 14 issue of the Now-Leader, there were only a smattering of vehement rotten tomatoes thrown and no roses. For me, when I think of roses, I think of my mother and dad, as I am old now. I miss them, yet feel them around me every day. My dad always grew mother roses. After his ordeal in WWII, he was ‘debriefed’ (I suppose that’s the term, though recovery may be more appropriate). Living with a young family in Amsterdam, he was taught to grow flowers. Dad had landscaped the family home, he grew gladiolus for his mom, and roses for my mom. He also had planted a climbing rose with the trellis escorting them over the top of the back sundeck so my mother could see them out her bedroom window, She wore nail polish the exact same colour as those beautiful gifts dad had planted for her. We all need to hold our family close in our hearts. Please disallow yourself to fall under the stress and thrash out at others. I have been abruptly berated by shopkeeps and others for nothing but being in the same area as they. That makes me not want to go anywhere and I do need to shop for groceries occasionally. Please take care. It’s still a long road to go.
- Rotten tomatoes to the president of the council at Boundary Park Place as well as Strataco Management Ltd. It is unfortunate that property management companies must take the “direction” from Strata Council Members who often single out owners in the complex and “prey” on them. Such is the case where I live, also managed by Strataco. Several owners do not adhere to the Bylaws or Rules and Regulations yet they go unscathed and unreprimanded even when a complaint is sent to Council. Yet good people like Rabiya Merani are “singled out “ and “targeted.” What happened to fairness and honesty? A huge container full of Roses to Rabiya Merani and Scout. Be kind. Remember, ”What goes around, comes around.”
- Rotten tomatoes by the truckload to Councillor Allison Patton. Despite being paid by Surrey taxpayers, Patton has the audacity to state during the Jan. 11 council meeting that White Rock is her “favourite city.”
