• Rotten tomatoes to the driver we saw looking for rain puddles to drive through while children and their parents were walking to school. You are a very low person. Remember, what goes around comes around.

• Red roses to the North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex. What a spiffy, modern, high-tech facility this place is. Now if only people would stop referring to it as “Bridgeview,” because we already have a community centre in the area by that name.

• Roses to the new vaccination policy that the City of Surrey came up with for staff. I agree 100 per cent with this new mandate. It is a good thing that 94 per cent are fully vaccinated and willing to comply. The five per cent of unvaccinated staff need to do their part. Otherwise, there’s the door.

• Rotten tomatoes to our neighbourhood busybody, her husband and family. You guys are what is wrong with this neighbourhood. Because people are outside doesn’t mean they want to talk to you. Stop bothering people, go in the house, worry about your own life and work on yourselves.

• Roses to the seven people who got banned from City Hall. I’m so sorry that this happened to you. This is downright wrong and beyond comprehension. I hope the courts will let you back in because everyone deserves to have a voice. Keep your chins up and be strong.

• I’d like to offer a rose and a message to the people who voted for Doug McCallum. We all make mistakes. Now that you’ve learned from your mistake, don’t ever do it again.

• Roses to all the traffic patrol people who watch out for our children every school day. A special thank-you and rose to the this crossing guard lady at Ecole Elementary. She treats all the children like they are her own.

• Beautiful bouquets of red roses to all the canvassers who volunteered their time to collect signatures for the Surrey Police Vote during horrific weather. Dozens more to Ivan, Merle Scott and Darlene Bennett for organizing this very challenging task.

• Red roses to the recycle truck driver in my Fleetwood area. Our new neighbour had a massive clear plastic bag of raked leaves. He waited for the truck driver, who emptied his green bin, then he crossed our street with the green bin re-filled. The recycling truck driver not only emptied it again for him, but climbed down from his truck three times to assist our neighbour to refill the bin with the rest of his leaves. What a wonderful thoughtful kind man.

• A huge bouquet of long-stemmed red roses to the kind soul who found my dog’s licence in Barry Mathers Park and left it on the log fence. You saved me the hassle of getting a new one. It made my day!
