• Roses to the Now-Leader for the front page of back-to-school backpack day and more by the non-profit City Dream Centre. Wow. Everyone that can in Surrey should get behind this volunteer organization by donating money for the meal program — even $5 a month times many people would help. Instead of donating their children's and teens' clothing, shoes and boots to a thrift store, help our Surrey children and teens in need. When we care about each other, good things come out of it.
• Roses and more roses to the City of Surrey for employing youth to work casually while they are in high school and university. It allows time for school, study, and some me time. You are an awesome employer.
• Rotten tomatoes to the smoker in a red Sportage Kia flicking their cigarette ashes out the window. and anyone else who has this habit. You can cause a fire. There needs to be fines. What about a dashcam to fine you?
• Rotten tomatoes to the child-care industry. They should be paying early childhood educators a lot more money rather than a few measly dollars above minimum wage. Since the current wages are a little more than absolutely pathetic, it’s no wonder the turnover rates in this industry gets worse every year. Good finding quality staff that are willing to work for peanuts. You get what you pay for.
• Roses to the officer in the Surrey Police Service that took care of an issue when I complained about criminal activity in my neighbourhood.
