• I'd like to give roses to Mayor Locke for deferring the report recommending bleachers from an American firm. I've disagreed with and questioned many of the mayor's decisions over her term, but this is a good move, and she deserves credit for standing with Team Canada.
• Roses to Mayor Locke and councillors for cancelling bleachers from the U.S.A. This should not have been in the works. Canada first.
• Rotten tomatoes to all the Surrey homeowners of suites. if they were paying more property taxes we would not be having a $200 increase to our utilities bill. Illegal suites are out of control.
• Rotten tomatoes to the embarrassing display of booing for the American team at the Invictus Games. More rotten tomatoes for the Canadians booing during the American national anthem at various sporting events. I've never been so ashamed to be Canadian. It was a very 1984 "two minutes of hate" moment. None of the athletes are involved in the tariff issue, so grow up. I'm wondering where the outrage is from these "Canadians" regarding all the taxes we pay. Carbon tax is increasing another 20 per cent on April 1st, adding to the already long list of taxes Canadians pay thanks to our government. The possible 25 per cent tariffs we may pay are the Liberals' doing. Canada's 'safe supply' has led to an outrageous drug problem and the lackadaisical vetting has led to illegal immigration problem. The president of the States doesn't want our problems flowing over the border. We shouldn't want these problems within our border and should be holding the taxpayer-funded officials accountable. Lay blame where it belongs.
