• Rotten tomatoes to people who leave voice mails that say “talk to you later.” Dialing in to retrieve voicemails is a true pain. Don’t leave a message if there’s no real message to hear.

• A huge bouquet of roses to the publisher, the editor, sales manager, distribution manager and all the staff at the Surrey Now-Leader for giving us a weekly newspaper with local news. I look forward to it every week. Keep up the good work.

• I’m going to send a rose to White Rock. Yes, it has changed big-time. Some things stay the same but others just change. Nevertheless, White Rock is still a wonderful place to visit after all these years. Love all those authentic restaurants and coffee houses!

• Rotten tomatoes to certain RCMP supporters. They may have won the battle when they elected Brenda Locke but they clearly lost the war. They seem to have a personal attachment to the RCMP like the old guard. The Surrey Police Service represents a very bright future for Surrey and I’m more than happy to welcome them aboard.

• A beautiful long-stemmed rose to the kind, thoughtful person who found my important medical papers and mailed them to me. I had lost them at Guildford Town Centre. Bless you.

• That red octagonal thing you see at the intersection of 156 Street and 110 Avenue is a STOP sign, as in a command, not a suggestion. Driving through it at 60 kmh-plus is irresponsible and dangerous, you driver of a grey minivan. Please stop at the stop sign!

• Rotten tomatoes to people who sweat the small stuff. Like, are you really going to let something small like a minor traffic annoyance wreck your whole day? Sorry I made you wait an extra two seconds at the light. Relax everyone.
