• Roses to those who spread Christmas Cheer throughout our city. I’m personally loving all the holiday lights, festive window mural paintings and decorations. Special thanks to everyone at the Fleetwood Business Improvement Association for bringing the spirit of Christmas to the Fleetwood Town Centre community and for supporting local business.

• We have just returned from taking our family on the Christmas train. We are told when we have snow it’s the law to keep sidewalks cleared. Rotten tomatoes to the City of Surrey for not obeying its own rules. The walkway was icy – no salt and very dark in places. There were a lot of people complaining. Why am I not surprised?

• Rotten tomatoes to the thief who stole my catalytic converter in the Chimney Heights neighbourhood. If Santa needed it for his sleigh, no problem. Probably stolen for alcohol or drugs. I hope you choke on it.

• Rotten tomatoes to Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum and his minions for releasing the 2022 Surrey budget a week before Christmas and letting Surrey residents have only four days to review and comment. Can we expect this same group next year to release the next budget on Dec 31, 2022 at 11:30 p.m. and have “until the end of the year” to respond (by snail mail only)? Dianne Watts, please come back and save us!

• Rotten tomatoes to people who didn’t get out there and vote in the previous municipal election three years ago, but now complain non-stop about the mayor. We end up with ignorant leaders thanks, to ignorant citizens. If you want to see changes in next year’s municipal election, then do better.

• Roses to my family for a great Christmas! I love you.

• A bouquet of beautiful red roses to former mayor Dianne Watts. Our city is not the same without you. I can’t stress enough just how much we all miss you. I highly doubt that there would be so much dysfunction and disorder if you were still running this city.
