I am currently a first-year student at the University of Waterloo, studying planning in the Faculty of Environment.
I have lived in Surrey ever since I came to Canada 11 years ago until I left earlier this year for university.
As a planning student, sustainability in Canadian cities is a very important part of my studies.
To my delight, the City of Surrey has been brought up in many of my researches as a leader in urban environmental sustainability.
In particular, we have North America’s largest living wall located on the Semiahmoo Public Library, a place I would frequent while attending the nearby Semiahmoo Secondary School.
I have never been prouder of my home town.
I would just like to share this uplifting information and say that: City of Surrey, the future lives here.
