Surrey: Assess taxes with the environment in mind

When I look at new developments or houses, I only see buildings. I do not see trees.

When I look at new developments or houses, I only see buildings. I do not see trees. Mature trees are disappearing.

The city should have developments with few trees and existing individual residential owners with no trees pay a penalty (or higher property tax), and it should consider giving a tax credit (incentive) to residential owners with three or more trees.

A portion of property taxes should be assessed based on environmental damage or gain.
