For the weekend of July 19-22, the City of Surrey brought forward its “A” game to host the 2012 BC Summer Games.

The city showed B.C. athletes and their families a true sense of community as 3,200 volunteers rallied under Bill McNamara and Linda Hepner’s leadership to stage an amazingly successful event.

Kudos to Surrey’s civic leaders for their vision and investment in establishing such high-quality sport and recreation facilities for B.C.’s best to perform on, in and under. The medals and personal bests awarded to these athletes and coaches are testament to the significant and multiple partnerships required to stage these Games.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the BC Games Society, thank you for making the 2012 BC Summer Games such a terrific success.
