Two sides to a taxing issue

Letter writer Peter Heigh quotes an HST government supporter in Nova Scotia’s finance minister Graham Steele, who raised that province’s HST from 13 to 15 per cent.

What would anyone expect but a ringing endorsement of the HST? Find the article by David Jackson in the Chronicle Herald in which he quotes the Canadian Federation of Independent Business as  providing a survey that indicated 86 per cent of the 265 business surveyed saying the HST increase (a mere two per cent) was “somewhat or very harmful” to their business.  Seems that there are more than just Mr. Steele’s  revelations about the HST.
