The MP for Fleetwood-Port Kells, Ken Hardie, is no friend of the commercial fisherman, pleasure boater or weekend recreational enthusiast.
He and his party gave the okay to more Search and Rescue cuts to the Coast Guard. He and his fellow Liberal MPs from B.C. upheld the former Conservative government’s decision to close the Canadian Coast Guard’s Comox Marine Communications and Traffic Services centre as of May 10.
With this closure, if you are in trouble out on the water, your distress call will be harder to make out and could be subject to communications blackouts. And you can thank your Liberal MP Ken Hardie for putting your life in jeopardy on the water.
