Surrey - The Editor, Re: "From bad to worse in Newton," the Now, Jan. 2. Regarding the vicious and senseless attack on the hockey mom in Newton, Mayor Dianne Watts says she is praying for the woman and her family.
Praying isn't going to do anything. It never has - she needs to act now to make that place (recreation centre and bus loop) a lot more safe now! Young children, young women and the rest of us frequent that area and we need protection.A police presence needs to be there all day until the last bus leaves to keep the criminal element away.
