Please let me be the first to get in my nomination for Surrey’s 2011 Moron of the Year Award.
Without a doubt it should go to the person who decided that 6 a.m. on a dark and rainy morning (Jan. 25) would be the ideal time to patch potholes on King George Boulevard just south of the Pattullo Bridge.
Our winning moron managed to back traffic all the into Whalley and no doubt caused thousands of people to be late for appointments. It also, of course, freed up the road crew’s time during non-rush hours to work on little used cul-de-sacs and country roads.
As person who has created a considerable number of screw ups myself over the years I can only express my awe at this person’s complete genius. It far surpassed anything I ever managed. Well done, whoever you are.
