The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have taken a 2-1 lead in their BC Hockey League playoff series against the Surrey Eagles.
The Bulldogs picked up a 5-2 win at home on April 8, 2025 in Game 3 of the Coastal Conference Semifinals. Port Alberni struck first with a goal from Jacob Terpstra at 12:49 of the first period, and just a few minutes later Wyatt Blace doubled the lead for the home team.
In the second period, Terpstra got his second of the night, but the Surrey Eagles got on the board with a powerplay marker from Gavin Rocha. Eagles forward Ryan Staples added another goal for the visitors, but the Bulldogs regained their three-goal lead with goals from Grayson Badger and Brendan Ruskowski.
There was no scoring in the third period, as the Bulldogs held on for a 5-2 win. Bulldogs goaltender Ryder Shea made 23 saves, while Eagles goaltender Jaiden Sharma made 17 saves.
The series returns to the Dawg Pound on Wednesday, April 9 for Game 4. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
