DeBoice commits to SFU

Surrey player to join men’s soccer team

Spencer DeBoice of Surrey will be joining the men’s soccer team at Simon Fraser University (SFU).

DeBoice will join the SFU Clan from the Vancouver Whitecaps residency program. He also played with Surrey Guildford United, and played on provincial soccer teams from 2006-10.

“Spencer is a very creative left footed player who can play anywhere on the left side of the pitch,” said SFU head coach Alan Koch. “He will come in and compete for playing time immediately. He has a professional mentality and I am excited that he has chosen to continue his development with our team.”

DeBoice and the rest of the Clan’s recruiting class will join returning players for SFU’s training camp in August at the Burnaby Mountain campus.

“I am very excited to pursue my soccer career at SFU as I work to progress further in the game,” said DeBoice. “The Clan have always had a first class team and I am ecstatic to begin competing in the NCAA.”
