FASTPITCH: Canadian Open coming, event volunteers needed

SURREY — The world’s best female fastpitchers return here for the Canadian Open international championship from July 3 to 13.

More than 1,300 athletes in five divisions will play games at Softball City in South Surrey and Cloverdale Athletic Park.

The annual tournament would not be possible without the help of more than 450 volunteers, who can register by visiting the event website, canadianopenfastpitch.com/welcome/volunteers.

The tourney is operated by the Canadian Open Fastpitch Society, which is also gearing up for the Surrey 2016 WBSC XV Women’s World Softball Championship (Surrey2016.com).
