Free golf lessons for kids at Maple Leaf clinic in Surrey

Hazelmere course plays host to event on Sunday, Aug. 28

Kids are invited to take part in free Ford Go Golf! Junior Clinics held at courses in several provinces.

Another free junior golf clinic is coming to a course in Surrey.

The annual Ford Go Golf! session gives 90 minutes of playing tips to kids aged five to 12, in a Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour program done in partnership with Dams Ford Lincoln.

This year’s event is on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club, 18150 8th Ave.

Instruction at the clinic is given by PGA of Canada pros, and a “tee gift” and refreshments are included with the free registration.

“We’ll have room for just over 50 kids,” said event organizer Neil Bidewell. “We supply everything, clubs included, should the kids not have any.”
