On the final 'Bad Blazer' promotional night of the season, the Vancouver Giants turned in one of their worst performances of the season.

The Giants were shelled 6-1 on home ice by the Kamloops Blazers, and fell apart in the second period after allowing four goals.

Vancouver came out flying in the first, as Calvin Spencer scored just 1:53 into the game, but cracks in the Giants game were revealed during a power play later that period.

Kamloops had two shorthanded breakaway opportunities, both of which were turned aside by Giants starting goalie Ryan Kubic. The Blazers evened the game at 10:25 when Quinn Benjafield tallied.

The second period was all Kamloops, as the Blazers potted four goals. Rudolfs Balcers (two), Lane Bauer and Garrett Pilon put the game out of reach for the Giants.

Nick Chyzowski scored the lone goal of the third to make it a 6-1 final.

Vancouver has now lost four straight games, and have not had a regulation win since Jan. 20. The club's record sits at 18 wins, 36 losses, two overtime losses and three shootout losses.

The Giants return to action tomorrow (Saturday) when they host the Red Deer Rebels. Face-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
