ICST Pegasus posts huge win

Newton's ICST Pegasus are no longer the sole occupants of the Vancouver Metro Soccer League premier division basement after an emphatic 5-1 win over Westside at Newton Athletic Park Friday night.

With the threat of relegation staring at them, the embattled Horsemen took care of business with a three-goal burst in the opening half before cruising to the win.

Reynold Stewart led Pegasus with three goals while Sahil Sandhu helped out with a pair.

The win moved the Horsemen within striking range of escaping the 12-team premier league's relegation zone. The bottom two teams in the league are dropped to division 1 for next season. Pegasus is now tied with Norvan for last place, but the Newton lads sit just three points back of ninth-place Westside with a game in hand.
